PT. Bank Danamon Indonesia Tbk ("Bank Danamon") was established in 1956 and as of the end of the second quarter of 2006 operates 1,373 branches including its DSP and Syariah units as well as Adira; 9,400 ATMs, including through our association with ATM Bersama and ALTO, in all 32 provinces in Indonesia and supported by almost 30,000 employees on a consolidated basis (including Bank Danamon's subsidiaries).
As per June 30, 2006, Bank Danamon is 69.54% owned by Asia Financial Indonesia (AFI) Consortium, 6.36% by Morgan Stanley Pte. Ltd. and 24.10% by the public (ownership interest below 5%).
In September 1, 2006, Bank Danamon became the sole issuer and acquirer of American Express® Cards in Indonesia under an independent operator agreement. This agreement allows Bank Danamon to issue American Express Cards to individual and corporate clients. Bank Danamon is also solely responsible for providing services to local merchants who accept American Express Cards and for signing up new merchant partners in Indonesia.
